Hello xtczero- Many of the symptoms that you describe as well as your experience and the doctors responses seem similar to my own. I am also the same age as you, and was previously very active like you. I have had symptoms for 2 years including the sudden horse voice upon exertion. I was even diagnosed with vocal fold atrophy (which sent me into a complete panick) only to have that diagnosed reversed 6 months later because the atrophy "healed". The ENT's were very puzzled. I have been extremely proactive in regards to seeing every specialist I can in every field. I have exhausted all options on the neurological front and my neuro has said that he thinks my issues are metabolic or mitochondrial but not neurological in nature. Now I am seeing specialists in these fields as well as a few others. I like your advice. I agree and believe it. I will not give up until I get a diagnosed of something or I recover on my own (which isn’t likely at this point but I remain hopeful). Please keep us posted on where your journey takes you. Good luck to you!

I too was nearly destroyed by statin drugs 2+ years ago. I have read that statins can seriously damage mitochondria and unleash previously benign or slow-moving issues in them. Any cell in the body could be affected - muscles, nerves, etc., so lots of times there are strange sets of weakness issues in seemingly random spots that do not follow a pattern, which throws all the neuros off and sadly sometimes leads to a diagnosis of mental disorder. I am also trying to get checked for mito.

Hi xtczero,
A good posting
Hopefully others who think they have MND read it and persue other options.
I wish you well in the hunt for your condition, and when you find it it is treatable

Cheers
peter

(P.S. perhaps I need to come up and see your guy, he might change my diagnosed )
