bear if you spend some time searching here you will find threads with reports on what other members have done.

One of the things I find hard is that people who try out their own alternate methods often don't really document well what they do and so we get people saying I'm trying this or doing that and it helps. Doesn't tell us much.

The cannabis threads I have found the best as there is usually better information on exactly what people are doing so it's really helpful.

I think if you want to research and trial a combination of things for yourself you should do it, but document it so you can say for sure what, how, when and the effect if any :)

that makes a lot of sense, Tillie. I too have found the cannabis threads helpful and has prompted me to pursue MM.
Thanks for the suggestion :)

Just wanted to leave a note of thanks to Pete about the Alka Seltzer and to Nikki about where I could locate the Gold (non-aspirin), but both of those threads where it was discussed are closed now.

My PALS has been on it for several weeks, taking it a little before breakfast and again before dinner. We weren't sure if it was the medical cannabis or the alka seltzer, but lately he's had very little mucous and almost no choking at mealtime. We were out today and he forgot to take the Alka Seltzer--dinner was the scary chokefest it used to be. Only difference was the Alka Seltzer. We're convinced now.

My partner has just been diagnosed wwith bulbar onset AlS. Speech & swallowing were 1st. Symptoms. I found a book called Conquering lou Gehrigs DSEASE...An ALS diet. It is comprehensive but not outrageous or difficult to find what we need. We are just at the beginning& have no idea if it will make any difference but at least we are doing something. Has anyone else used it?

Cyndi welcome. That book was written by someone who came to this forum, lied about credentials. It was discussed in a long thread you can find in a search. The authors have written books about other diseases and apparently cut and paste sections among them
Please everybody look up that thread before paying any money

A few thoughts about Hannah Yoseph, MD, Cyndi:

- Look up the author's name in Healthgrades or any other database of doctors. She does not appear anywhere I've looked.

- Google the author's name. It does not appear in any medical practice, university, or research center. She appears only as an author of her books.

- She has written about a dozen similar, nearly identical books that claim to cure many serious diseases quite simply.

- She claims that the cures for these diseases are known, but are kept from the public by a medical industry that is thoroughly corrupt top to bottom.

- When directly asked for credentials, she ranted about the unwelcome reception she received here on this site and angrily claimed "100% disabled veteran" as her credentials.

- She is banned from our forums.

Just food for thought, Cyndi.

I did take everything I read with a "grain of salt" so to speak....but since none of it seems to be costly or radical...and basically healthy for just about anyone, I figure it can't hurt and at least it gives me something to do. I didn't believe that it would be a cure but figured an improvement in my partner's life habits ( he weighed 340 when this started) couldn't hurt.

Cyndi you aren't trying to get him to lose weight are you?

We just sprung for some Lunasin, via Reliv. Here is hoping it works. We have also been seeing a chiropractic neurologist and he is seeing some improvement from that. He walked all the way up the stairs by himself yesterday, without holding on to the railing at all! Still trying to remain hopeful and positive.

I tried Lunasin for about 3-4 months earler this year and didn't notice any improvement but I wasn't checking for slowed progression like I should have. I did just order some more - capsules this time.

Music, this guy is documenting his results with it. It is interesting to watch. He never flat out says Lunasin, but he is in one of my facebook support groups and he has confirmed it is Lunasin there. Just to keep you positive.

Day 19 is pretty interesting to watch.

We'll, I'm now going to try at least ten 250 mg tablets daily. I intend to boost the number to 12 this week. I will do it for at least 11 weeks.

Music please do document well by taking video of your abilities now, carefully record what you take and anything else you do, then video again maybe an update every week during that time.

The treatment evolution can be recorded on patientslikeme website. Just look for lunasin or the name of the treatment there.
