Hello - I just wanted to be the voice of optimism for the wet cell battery.
I've been doing a lot of research on Edgar Cayce's Wet Cell Battery treatment regimen. The wet cell battery in particular, there is actually an awful lot of anecdotal evidence that this device helps for neurodegenerative diseases. I however do agree that if you are not convinced or don't have the money to buy one premade; you could try following his instructions to make one yourself for much less money. His instructions were given in a reading specifically for that purpose and that reading is available free online is what the wet-cell "scammers" are using to build theirs. If you don't want to pay for the solutions that go in the jars, note that in his reading on the appliance, he does state that it can be used without them. It's the level of energy that is the main thing, and the placement of the plates on your body. I believe the solutions are secondary, but there is a lot of anecdotal and some not so anecdotal evidence, especially iodine, that the solutions could be important. My feeling is they are secondary. My feeling is that if you can afford the solutions, go ahead and buy them and use them as directed.
As far as what I have uncovered so far that I think merits further attention from the skeptics: Micro-current medical devices have been reported at least in some minor studies to stimulate ATP production in the cells. Metallic gold implants have been shown in laboratory tests to inhibit apoptosis and stimulate neural stem cell response in brains damaged from trauma. Lots and lots of people with nero-degenerative disease: MS, Huntingtons, Parkinsons, ALS, etc., have reported not only a decreased progression, but reversal of symptoms using Cayce methods. This is mostly anecdotal, so if you are a skeptic, I say, throw that out, build one yourself and try it. But, keep an open mind and allow for the possibility that it might actually work.
Also, micro-current devices have been shown to increase vision in patients with macular degeneration, which is also a neurological disease of the eye.
Nano-gold in small quantities has been shown to stimulate collagen production, inhibit or protect from oxidative stress in cells. It is found in the axon of nerve cells when injested or injected.
I don't recommend making your own solutions though.
I am not an expert. Do your own homework on this as I've not had time to fully research all the various topics. I mostly just wanted to say that Edgar Cayce himself did not appear to be a scammer and was dirt poor most, if not all of his life. Some of these others might be trying to make money, but the main company is a non-profit. The cost is probably mostly due to lack of demand and the strange parameters required to make your own galvanic device as per his specifications. It would not be that difficult to make your own, however, for maybe 30 dollars in parts and I don't know how much for the zinc and sulfuric acid and whatnot.
But, it most certainly is not the same as car battery :?: It's a very low current. You might find it difficult to mirror the same level of current by stepping down a regular battery, but the instructions we got does tell you to test it with a volt meter. So, presumably, it would be possible with modern technology to mirror or mimic the output with something lke a 9-volt battery stepped down.
By the way, iodine is related to function of the endocrine system, which includes the pancreas, where a lot of the GABA-related enzymes are made. Camphor was used as an anti-psychotic back in the day, but through injection, which had too many side effects and was replaced with less harmful alternatives. Gold was used as a nervine (similar to how lithium is used today) and is still used for arthritis, and some recent studies show the metallic form has the same properties as the chloride form, but without the side effects. bromide was and is still used as an anti-seizure medication for epilepsy. Note that he mixes the two to get gold-bromide, which is I think is a way to get safer gold with a bromide accent. Bromide reacts with chloride in your body. Bromide poisoning is the result of losing all the chloride in your body and is treated by "infusion of sodium chloride". I think the gold-bromide is a way to get the benefits of metallic gold in addition to removing some excess chloride in your cells to even the balance. Chloride as you all probably know is a key player in the electrical potential across the cellular membrane. It's negative chloride ions inside the cells that you have. Since gold particles enter cells and are found inside nerve cells, I think the bromide might neutralize some of the negative chloride ions.
Okay, anyway, big data dump. But, I'm not a doctor, not a chemist, nor am I selling anything. I think it's okay to plan for success and figure out ways to do things on the cheap. Think positive and think about giving Edgar Cayce's Wet Cell Battery remedy a second chance. It's the one that actually makes sense to me and there is some legitimate academic research out there that validates some or most even of the "modalities."
And please do your own research on this as I may be jumbling some things together in such a large data dump and don't have time to check my work. And, you might find reason to de-emphasis some of the things I've said and re-emphasis others.
Peace,
-Bob
PS- If you are interested, I do have a mailbox full of online links to references for Edgar Cayce's Wet Cell Battery. I could put that all together and post it. I just have not had time to do that lately for myself even.
