I am a student at Worcester State College and am doing an assignment for journalism. I would love to interact with a patient or their spouse/any family member to get some insight on their daily lives, struggles, anything else they'd like to share with me.

I chose this topic because my grandfather passed away from ALS in 2005. I know how it was and I would love to educate my fellow students and professors on this topic.

If anyone can help please reply!

Thanks so much!

phat,

I would suggest that you search the caregivers forum and also look at member delb and member cutika (do a search under members). They have the most poignant detail of daily life struggling with ALS.

I would like to point out that with a disease like ALS, you truly find out who your friends are and realize who in your family you can trust. But, often times strangers are there for you when you least expect it, so all is not gloom and doom. What I mean is true character comes out when faced with such circumstances.
