Hello everyone. Firstly sorry for my english. Somewheres am gona use google translate.

I am 19 years old , living in Turkey. And Probably I have als. Yes i know , you thinking you are too young , but stephan hawking was 21.

My twitching started 2.5 monhts ago . I always wake up night for drink water.
On 11 June , when i drinking water , water went my trachea. Other day , other , other ... 7 days . Everynight my first swallow went my trachea.
My gag reflex is very very low , I am triying gagging but i cant , i remember , i was gagginng when i brushing my toot
for example , i am eating chicken. I put chicken on my mount , but when i dont swallow , chickens water oes my trackea. It is not normal...
I am talking normaly , i am chewing normaly. My tongue is not twitching but for 2 days , my tongue is different , like i dont feel somewheres on my tongue.
I have low b12 , my b12 was 112. but ı know b12 does not about gag reflex or swallowing....
I talked a doctor , he said you will have bulbar als or MG.
Another doctor told me , there are a lot of illness , start on mount but not seems on EMG
A went a neuro. He is a professor . He did 20 years universty neurology chief.
I told him my things . Asked him am i als ? He told me als is olds peoples illnes i see 3 4 people als there all were old.
He did emg. On my arms and foots. NOT MY TONGUE OR HEAD. only arms and foots
he said you are absoulitly healtly. you dont have als.
but didnt did emg on my head tongue or my mounth.
If i have bulbar als , will it seems on my foot or arm ? Like he said , if i have illness on my neck , it would be seems on my right arm.
What i shoud be ? I have no weakness.
What do you propose to me ? Am thinking go again this doctor and want to emg on my tongue

My husband had bulbar ALS so I know it really well. I work with supporting people with ALS so I have seen it a lot.

Your neurologist was right - you do not have ALS, I can be certain from two things.

1. You don't have the symptoms. I know you think you do, but it is not the same.

2. Your EMG would have shown ALS even if he did not do your tongue. You see ALS is a disease that is through the body even if bulbar shows first in the tongue. So your neurologist knew what he was doing and he knew how to check you. If I meet someone with very early bulbar symptoms I can hear it in how they talk and I can see it in their body because I know it well. Your neurologist knows so much more than I do, and he could see you have some other problem.

You should go back to him again and ask what to do next and what he thinks could be wrong as he knows all about you and is a specialist.

i can understand you first thanks . But i have symetricc hyperreflexia.
i know it is not normal.
i really have hyperreflexia. 1 2 weeks before my reflexes normal but now it is not normal

most importantly you can NOT check your own reflexes and have it be anywhere near accurate. One of the research neurologists I see won't even let me LOOK when he checks reflexes!

Even if the above were not true anxiety can affect your reflexes and make them hyper and yours did not look bad to me even if it were valid test

Finally kindly retitle that video. You do not have a diagnosis of motor neuron disease. Implying you do will make others anxious

First, those reflexes are not hyper whatsoever.
Second, you cannot test your own reflexes and expect to get a valid result.
Finally, sickMan, you don't have ALS. I am sure you have anxiety.
See your doctor.

Please take down that video so it doesn't mislead people into thinking they have a serious disease.
