Please tell him not to be discouraged. My husband's trache surgery was over a year ago. He had a few scares with pneumonia in the beginning months but then things finally evened out. The first part is the hardest. Tell him we are thinking about him and to stay strong.

Dad is having a rough time of it. Does not like the trach, does not want BiPAP hooked up to it, does not want to eat. We are keeping him as comfortable as we know how, but he is getting weaker every day. I think he has had enough. I respect his wishes. Thank you for all your kind words and prayers. Keep 'em coming. Will continue to keep you all posted.
