Just wanted to share. Our son PALS has been overheating and freezing on different parts of his body at the same time. Hands hot, arms and shoulders cold, torso hot, knees cold, etc. with no seeming rhyme or reason. He was miserable.

We got a medical grade sheepskin pad to put in his wheelchair to try and ease the discomfort of his bones poking into his butt skin. No bed sores yet, but we're trying to stay ahead of it.

Brilliant side effect: it helps immensely to even out his body temp! He is soooo much cooler and even. We even bought a second one for the bed, it is such a huge difference!

Hope it helps someone.

My grandfather always used a sheepskin in his car as cover for his seat. I think it's common for truck drivers in my country, but in the case of my grandfather I think it was more of a joke or a conversation starter. All in all, he might have been comfortable and temp regulated all this time.

Medical sheepskin is great stuff, for sure. For anyone considering, I'd make sure it's real and not synthetic, and that wherever it's placed, doesn't become bunched or uneven.

Some pALS use sheepskin slippers as well.
