>His letter was 'p' so he quickly said 'promiscuous'

:-)

I would not worry to much about that test. The Dr asked me to come up with as many words beginning with the letter "F". I named 3 and quit. He kept timing me but I told him I didn't want to play any more. He also asked me to spell "world" and I spelled "would". I believe the atmosphere sounding the test lends itself to poor results. Think about it, you have been diagnosed with a serious disease and they want you to spell words. I don't think these results will help them find a cure. I can barely speak now, spelling is not my problem. Besides...on the computer I use spell check.

My wife just read my reply and found numerous spelling errors. Too and surrounding. Oh well, I was always a poor speller.

Oh good lord riggsy...the only F words I can think of are naughty ones!

You mentioned that you are 47 and if I recall correctly I found a huge decrease in my memory around that time, but it did improve in my 50s ...

So things do improve with age? Love that idea Paulette.

My gut believes the results were accurate. I have noticed a difference. But in reality it has almost no bearing on my day-to-day life. I just found the testing quite interesting. And because I am so new to all of this, I was surprise.

My mother has dementia and I remember her being put through the same tests. It's amazing what can be gleaned from those sorts of tests. Her "clock" test was really revealing.

jrtriggs, don't worry about your spelling at all. Thanks for your insight.

GreenQueen, I agree. Give me the letter "F" and all I can think of are the naughty words. Speaking of which, I was giving the letter "S" and I never even thought of the word sex or swingers. Sheesh, I could have had fun with that! :)

Did the test for the VA passed all areas, but like Mark had some trouble recalling the numbers and letters. The test was fairly low stress, did it via video conference.

They asked me about 6 months ago to say all the words I could that start with the letter "F".............they prolly won't ever do that again, I dropped about 20 variations of [email protected] were teaching a few students how to do the test, they were all edumuckated that day.

brad my chris found himself nearly in hysterics as the lady who did his testing was muslem with full clothing and veil, and obviously english (or even strayan) was not her first language.

His letter was 'p' so he quickly said 'promiscuous' which then took up time he should have been using to give more 'p' words as she didn't know if it was a real word or one he had made up ...
