Halfin, I've read many of your excellent posts, and just want to say hey. Trying not to sound foolish here, but you are a personal hero of mine; the way you are fighting this, it comes through in your posts. Sorry I only have words . . . I wish you and your family the best, please keep going - just like the 26.2 mile marathon.
Hi, Hal- I just wanted to say that not only are your posts enlightening & informative, but supportive & empathetic as well. I always enjoy reading them. I hope you are as well as you can be; my best to you & your family. Marianne
Hope you're feeling better today...removing a carpet could kick up all kinds of stuff in the air-plus if they are using the carpenter's glue, it could make you feel sick. Just wanted to check in and see if you're any better today.
    Peace,
    Melody
Hi Halfin; your explaination of how the nerves work makes a lot of sense. Sensory nerves are near the surface of our skin and nerve muscles are deep. Perfect sense.
My cat's young so maybe it's just her claws- but I do find I bump into things a lot, I guess I just get surprised that I have . Hey does Halfin mean you are half a Finn? Thanks for your help. Take care- Karin
Did you notice a rapid change in your speech. Mine was almost in one day. so far it's limited to my speech, cwheing, etc. facial area. thanks, Cathy
    Hi Halfin,

I just read one of your posts and found out we have something in common. I started P90X and after finishing a second round of the workout I began to experience the symptoms that initially brought me to the world of ALS...on my left arm/shoulder area just like you! I have had 2 EMG's on the affected arm that were clean, but have a slight tendon tear at the shoulder (which is probably the cause of my probs)...anyway, I just thought it was kind of a coincidence. Take care.

Hello there! I'm a fellow member of this forum. In googling ALS news as I do once a week or so, I came across an article about a runner with ALS named Hal from Santa Barbara whom I can only assume is you! I thought it was a super article (and a very nice photo of you and your wife). Best to you, Jennifer
