I appreciate the advice and reassurance although I am not confident based on the progression I am experiencing, its not good. In any case, I wont be back here unless I actually get a diagnosis. God bless.Here's a kind word of advice for you: You do not have ALS- not now and not since 2008 since you started looking for it- so you should be putting this ALS thing behind you regardless of what the MRI shows. No one but you thinks you have it. Life is too precious and short to go chasing terminal illness, especially the most cruel kind, so be grateful for your health and cherish the life you've been given. You're pretty lucky to have something so totally minor as an L5 radiculopathy.

If this “very experienced neuromuscular specialist at a very reputable hospital” couldn’t reassure you, then it’s not likely that random strangers on the internet are going to do any better,I had a recent clinical exam with a very experienced neuromuscular specialist at a very reputable hospital. Dr. spent about 2 hours with me. At the end of the exam Dr. told me the exam was relatively normal
