Hello everyone. In October 2024, I began experiencing pain and discomfort in my left leg. I had cramps in my left calf that have persisted to this day, along with a sense of weakness in the leg. Gradually, fasciculations also started to appear in the calf. In December 2024, my right hand began to feel strange. It felt heavier, and certain tasks started to feel more difficult, like typing on a computer or writing on my phone.
(previous thread here: suspicion)

I underwent neurological tests in February. Everything appeared normal. However, a weak nerve conduction was observed. Since then, my symptoms in the right hand and arm have worsened along with my shoulder. It feels very heavy and i am loosing strength. For the past two weeks, it has been very difficult to perform daily tasks, such as opening a bottle, typing on a computer, putting on clothes, or turning pages. I would like you to take a look at my neurological results and tell me what to do. Could this be ALS? I know that sometimes EMG can take time to find out ALS. What should I do next?
I am desperated and cant handle my Life in the right way anymore.

PS: neurological test is in French sorry for that

Hello-

Your attached test results contained personally identifying info, so were removed. You can re-post with that info blocked out if you wish. However, the EMG portion was clear, so ALS is not the issue. Your report should also have a summary or conclusion by the person conducting it. This would inform you whether there were any issues with the NCS portion, and would provide insight into next steps- which can be addressed with your doctors. You have been cleared of ALS.

So, next steps would be to return to your doctors to seek further care- you can remove ALS from the list of things you might be concerned about.

Take care

Thanks for the Quick reply i appreciate it. Hereby the test again and the doctors conclusion. If anyone else want to have a look at it and give his suggestions.

Hello-

The doctor says no ALS- nothing in your exam or EMG indicates it. Have you read the summary? It very clearly outlines why there is no cause to be concerned about ALS and also includes some possible causes for your symptoms and the next steps in narrowing it down further.

If you are unable to be reassured by your neuro about ALS despite showing zero signs of it, it might be time to address what appears to be a growing health anxiety. This is not a dismissal of your symptoms, only a recommendation you approach your health holistically while you continue to work with your doctors to figure out what is causing your (non ALS) symptoms.

Please take
