Als or not?
Idk if i have mnd/als.
First i am Brazilian. Then sry for my bad english.
Started with back pain, then right foot pain in 2022 apryl.
I did 3 emg in 3 years.= 1 clean, 2= active denervation s1 + fib, 3= reinervation but diminished area. Clean mri brain, back and sacro. No herniated disc. No inpingement on mri.
My symptons actually:
Sore muscle sometimes
Stiff r leg sometimes
Weird feeling on ankle
Sometimes little fingers foot( no pain, and move like a cramp)
Fasciculation
Fatigue after stands up for 1h/3h, then i sit and go back, but i can walk 3miles+ if i want
I can stand on tiptoe for 1 minute if i want
Imnsonia
Gastro problems
Sometimes burning feet( but i think this is about my antidepressant)
3 years symptons...
I notice worsening with time.
Sorry for asking but I went to 11 neurologists and neuromuscular doctors. so far no diagnosis.
B12 ok
Magnesium ok
Fan, vhs, pcr, eletrosferase ok

The question is: isn't my right leg developing foot drop? How did started ur symptons and drop foot? Anyone same history? Anyone started like this?

Ill never be safe?? Ill stay forever waiting the mnd diagnosis?

Hi there-

Please read this: Read Before Posting. It explains why sensory issues (burning, pain) and gastro issues point elsewhere. No loss of function (feeling tired is not the same as clinical weakness). As well, you've seen 11 specialists and had 3 emgs across the span of 3 years- which turned no signs of ALS up. You really will have to look in another direction for cause of symptoms.

Focusing on ALS is not doing you any favours and may be diverting your doctors from finding the real cause if your main purpose of visiting them is to get reassurance specifically about ALS.

There is no longer any reason to think about ALS. Please get counseling if you can't stop thinking about it.

I would suggest that you work with your primary care doctor to determine if you should see an orthopedist or physio about your foot, and whether you might have a post-viral syndrome.

Firstly I would like to thank you for responding so quickly. understood. However, I had this denervation that reinnervated. But anyway, a level of knowledge could explain to me more or less what the progression of "dropped foot" is like. I have a weakness in this leg that I had this denervation finding

I have experienced drop foot on both feet. In each case I started tripping for no reason which led me to see if I could walk on my heels. I could not - nor could I go on tip toe. In both instances it was sudden. I was fine then I was not. I did not and do not feel weak

Reinnervation after denervation has stopped indicates healing not als
