Carman Palliative Care Program

Services are provided in English. The program/service currently serves adults. The program/service provides care and/or support for Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Infectious Diseases (i.e. HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C), Neurological Disorders, Renal Disease, Respiratory Disease, Care for all conditions, Anticipatory Grief and Bereavement, and Emotional/Spiritual Support.

Carman Palliative Care Program is a professional hospice and respite care facility located in Carman, Manitoba.

A referral is appropriate when an individual has a life limiting illness which is not responding to treatment when care shifts to become more focused on symptom management rather than a cure.Volunteers can provide respite careto patients and caregivers. Ifadmitted to hospital if possible they would be admitted to one of our two Palliative Care Rooms. Assessment of patients are performedby a trained palliative care nurse to assess pain and symptom management. We also provide home visits by a trained palliative care nurse or support coordinator visits with palliative care physicians as needed access to homecare supplies and other equipment working with thePalliative Care Home Program access to the Palliative Care Drug and the Home Oxygen Program.
