Hi Everyone,
I am 25 year old male with some weird symptoms going on. I want to apologize if my post offends anyone who see's this and just looks at me like another hypochondriac coming in here since ALS at my age is extremely rare. But I have had lots of nerves regarding this lately. Towards mid October I stood up and had some tightness in the front right calf muscle below my knee. I did not think much of it at the time but the tightness persisted and radiates to different parts of my leg sometimes but usually has stayed consistent in one spot right below my knee In the upper front calf. I had some weird toe weakness which was the original driving force behind why I am writing this in here. But after working out the toe weakness has gotten better but the tightness has persisted.
I do not feel this tightness at rest. The weirdest thing is that it seemed to disappear for about a week and now has come back and feels tighter which I know is something that is not common with ALS. Now I have had inner right foot twitching and the feeling like a cramp is going to come on that started a few days ago. I have had no weakness despite this as well as no atrophy. I have had mild twitches but I have had those for years. My Primary Care does not think it is ALS due to my age and said my physical was great. He did inform me that my vitamin D was slightly low and that my b12 was low normal after some blood work.
I know my symptoms could be related to those two things above but the tightness showed up randomly in a time I was not anxious which makes me know this was not in my head. Some of my questions are Is this something that is an early onset symptom? Is that like a constantly tight muscle even at rest that stays in one spot? Does it come and go from rest to standing? is it mainly weakness as a first symptom and then spasticity?
I am going to give it to the end of this week and if I see no improvements am going to go back and see my PCP again if it continues. Again want to apologize for coming in here and asking these questions as I know there are people in here struggling with this horrible illness. My prayers go to all of you.
