I am so lost and confused. My husband, a Dr. of physical therapy, about 1 1/2 years ago, was on his annual deer hunt. He couldn't draw his bow. He came home and noticed fasciculations. They increased, and he had noticeable weakness in arms and legs.
Several months later, he got an appt. with neurologist. EMG came back abnormal in half the muscles tested. Wait and see. 1 year later, no real changes visibly except drop foot and perceived weakness/atrophy. One fall while playing with grandkids.
Back to neurologist, more chronic changes without denervation or reinnervation. Sent to specialist who conducted more of a verbal interview. Did repeat EMG where he found changes, but fewer than local neurologist . He believes it may not be ALS. So more wait and see. So frustrating! Hubby says he believes, due to his inner connection with his body, that it is still very early stages. I don't know what to think.
