Prior thread: I am worried

I got seen by a neurologist today and of course I feel more confused than ever. I got put in for a referral for an EMG and MRI of brain. I read his notes today and this is what it said:

Motor exam is 5/5 bilaterally with slight atrophy of L APB and L hand intrinsics, and normal tone no abnormal movements are seen.

no fasciulations seen or induced

Sensory exam is intact to light touch bilaterally and symmetric

Rapid alternating movements finger-nose and coordination is within normal limits and symmetric

Deep tendon reflexes are 3+ bilaterally with 3-4 beats of clonus bilaterally and symmetric

Gait is stable and steady tandem gait is normal Romberg is normal.

Really concerned about the deep tendon reflexes and beats of clonus. Any insight would great thanks for what y’all do on here!

Both are normal variants. Particularly as they are symmetrical findings. Some people are just naturally hyperreflexic ( and clonus is an extension of that). It can be exacerbated by things like caffeine and stress
