I am a male who is 22 years old. Everything began 2 years ago when I got mononucleosis. One day after mono, I was sitting new to my computer when my finger started twitching like crazy then every time I try to grab a pen or something small, it starts shaking like crazy too - although I do not have weakness. Then, soon after I started having fasciculations all over my body. Got an EMG and it was fine. Started living with fasciculations and shaking fingers which do not really matter to me at this point.
However, I noticed that 1 month ago new symptoms appear and this time, I am really worried to the point of not been able to continue with my life.
First, it was breathing, I noticed a rare feeling at the back of my throat when breathing and this has become more severe throat time. I do not choke, but something is def going on there - I went to the doctor and he told me my throat is fine, so I am not sick or anything.
Then, the most important symptom is my jaw. It gets really tired when eating and this is something that is becoming more severe every day. When I eat cereal, burgers, etc, it is getting really tired really quickly and this is what really makes me wonder...could this be it? It is bulbar? My last EMG was done one year ago, and although I do not show weakness on my body, my jaw is def getting weaker and tired. Lastly, I also noticed how my tongue starts shaking more than usual too, but I do not put a lot of stress on that.

I know I might sound crazy, but I am really young and if I do not have ALS, I am sure I will have a great great great life which it only makes this entirely situation worst for me. It is important for me to know if this could be really ALS, cause I do not think I can be strong enough to go through this at this moment of my life.

Thanks, and I really hope the best for u all -as well as for me.
* pd: I do not mean to up set anybody here, on the contrary.

Stress can cause you to clench your teeth in sleep. I would ask your dentist about a bite guard.

Your mouth can get dry when you are not keeping up with your hydration all throughout the day, or just in dry weather, or if your furnace filter needs changing.

I don't see any reason to resume worrying about ALS.
