I’m a 50 year old male and recently had twitching in the calves which has spread to other parts of body. I had a ncs and ent done 3 weeks ago. My emg was normal but ncs shows peroneal nerve neuropathy with no entrapment in my left leg. Since then the sides of my knee hurt and my toes and top of foot hurt causing me to limp. The ncs doctor said it could be serious but wasn’t sure. He put me on gabapentin and wants to see me back in 30 days. Twitching will not stop. Any ideas? I fear the worst.

You say you have a leg issue. That issue is explained by your ncs. You had a normal emg. Nothing sounds like ALS

I would ask about a referral to PT. Gabapentin is kind of like a bandaid in this case -- you want to see what improvement you can get at the root of the problem.

But completely agree, no reason to worry about ALS.
