  • Thank you sweet Kim for your continued love and support - so happy to call you my friend. This is a tough journey and am fortunate I'm not alone. Trying my best to get thru this nightmare called ALS.

    Kim,
I hope your dad is doing well. Things here are good. The trees have started to bloom. We have peach, and almond trees. Plus 63 pecan trees.

When does your dad go to clinic again? I go on May 9.

    >You're going to hell? You want your remains flushed down the toilet? Your post cracked me up.

Hi Kim :)… Well better no heaven or hell then there is a hell and headed there :)

I did actually have to pay the bloodsucking attorneys to document my last wishes of having my ashes flushed down the :toilet

Hi Kim...I agree with you about Couponguy but what is to be done? What I find truly amazing are the numbers of people who show up here almost hoping to be ALS positive. I'm reminded of 7th grade when we (guys) used to make up stories so girls would feel sorry for us lol. No matter.

Keep in touch if you need or want to. Best to you in this mess.
You might be right. I know it's hard to keep my fingers off the key board ( mouth shut) with some of these dihals with their symptoms that have nothing to do with ALS. Don't understand why their tolerated anyway. You wouldn't go to a cancer survivors support group if you didn't have cancer, they'ld throw you out on your head so why do they think it's ok to come here. I understand the care givers and others who are affected, I've learned a lot about what to expect with this but most of the dihals ers tic me off. Glad to hear that your dad is holding up inspire of this. Trying to keep a positive attitude so The Lord can use me to encourage those around me who are suffering. Have a good day
I am doing OK mine is going slow so I try to enjoying every minute. I can still walk with a cane all-be-it slowly, still able to talk , some breathing problems but I thank god for my family and I am sure your dad does to. Please take care of one another.
Wouldn't let me post the full message I wrote so doing it in two
Understand about wanting spring, a friend is coming by Easter weekend to plant some flowers for me. Used to do it all myself including a large garden but can't manage it anymore.
If your interested in some help with the emotional issues you have going on, I'm part of a group that helps people who are dealing with issues ranging from addictions to bad relationships and losses in there lives. It helped me when I was going through my divorce although the goal is usually to help save , marriages and has also helped me to deal with my emotions concerning ALS It's northstarcommunity, com. This is a non- denominational Christ centered program. There is a lot of help available through the web site, church services dating back for years, literature as well as daily devotions and a blog site. Hope it will help you in dealing with things. Who knows, maybe it will help you save your marriage.

Kim, been doing ok now, had an upper respiratory infection a few weeks ago but mostly over it now. Unfortunately can no loger lay flat to sleep and the infection caused some progression but not a lot. At last visit to clinic the resp function was holding steady at around 60 so it hasn't changed. I'm with you on the spring thing. Hired a lady I used to work with to come in and clean the house every two weeks, she's going to help me plant some flowers during Easter week. Couldn't do it by myself. Temps hit 55 today but supposed to be rainy all weekend starting tomorrow. Had to much rain this winter
Can't handle the pool thing as the cold water would make me hurt, maybe a hot tub but not sure I could even get in one,

Hi Kim! Yes, he likes the Ensure but in general has a loss of appetite. At least he has not lost another pound, thank goodness. I think we will do better when he is home - his final day at work will be this coming Tuesday, 4/1. I'm hoping that under my watchful eye and bringing in lots of snacks, he will regain some of the 30 pounds he lost. It's an odd first symptom, isn't it? Thanks for asking!
Whoops! Posted something here by accident. Can't delete, only edit. (now is the time you write me off - what a noob thing to do).
