    CALS help PALS with bathroom

I started wearing sports trunks/shorts all the time. They slide off easier and feel comfortable. Once I'm up in the sling part of my rear is accessible for my caregiver to grip and pull my shorts part of the way down. Then when on the shower chair they pull the shorts the rest of the way off...

    My most helpful items

These gadgets are so helpful to me and I use them all the time. I thought they should be shared just in case they might help someone else. I bought these on Amazon using my Amazon Prime account so on most I didn't have to pay for shipping. I'm including a link with them. First is a neck roll...

    Toilet Training

I use a wheel in chair and my bathroom is small. Finding a shower small enough to fit through the door took some time. Had to remove the bathroom to be able to get in. We do have to make sure the chair is centered over the bidet.

    How to handle hankshakes?

My right arm is like yours so I shake hands with my left hand. When I see someone get close enough where they may want to shake, I lift my left arm and hand with a smile. Being more confident helps the other person feel better about shaking hands.

    What wheelchair should i buy?

I used the Quantum Q6 for 5 months then got the option of recieving the Quantum or Permobil M300 (VA). After test driving both I picked the M300 felt more comforting. But I did use a ROHO air cushion on both, not the stock seat so each did have the same cushing. The M300 also seemed to be more...

    Veteran's with ALS - Questions

The local ALS is great to go to because of the loaners they might have available to loan you. They loaned me a QUANTUM power wheelchair, Hoyer Lift and sling, folding ramp, and other smaller items. So I had these for over 5 months before I received the equipment from the VA. They gave me the...

    Face mask/Trilogy

I was having cuts and sore bumps on my nose while using the ResMed Quattro, but I switched to the ResMed Quattro Air and I've not had another cut or sore. CHANGE IS GOOD! I also have a ResMed Mirage Swift II CPAP Nasal Pillows for the days when I'm stuck in bed and want to see the TV easier.
