Hello, I am an anthropologist and I have some doubts about ALS disease. Could someone kindly help me to solve them? I am reading articles but I can't find anything about these two questions....

Which medical professional is most important during illness? Who do you think are the other most important during the course of the disease?

Thanks!

You have doubts about ALS? Meaning you think you have it ? See a doctor.

In the care of PALS a neuromuscular specialist is most important for diagnosis and overall management but they are usually supported by a team Look at the websites of ALS clinics. You will see they have nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists and often geneticists, pulmonologists and social workers. PALS who want feedings tubes need an interventional radiologist ( usually preferred) or surgeon and a surgeon for a trach. There are also people who specialize in various durable medical equipment- respiratory therapists for ventilatory support and seating specialists for wheelchairs.

Thanks!!!Thanks!!! Thanks Nickky for you help
