Just a note that as of September, the following chapters are no longer ALSA members as part of a settlement, with Jan. 31 the deadline for complete disengagement. So you are seeing web sites in different states of existence.
Some now have "ALS United" in their names. Others have rebranded entirely, e.g., as "ALS Northwest."
The new spinouts do not have to kick up 13% of revenues to ALSA any more. If you write them a check, it will stay local.
Arizona
Golden West
Orange County
Rocky Mountain
Connecticut
Georgia
Greater Chicago
Nevada
New Mexico
Greater New York City
North Carolina
Central & Southern Ohio
Oregon and Southwest Washington
Greater Philadelphia
Rhode Island
The rest of the chapters, that agreed to "unification" (love where ALSA describes unification as transcending an "antiquated" status quo), are not chapters any more. ALSA now captures all the revenue up front. So be aware that if you write a check to "ALSA," it may or may not flow into any local activities.
