EMG of both legs was normal. Lumbar paraspinals showed some fibs. Right lower leg seems weaker than right leg and twitches more often. fasics did show up on emg in both legs, but no spontaneous activity. Could ALS still be the cause of the right leg weakness or would the EMG have shown...

Ted, one question....can you tell me possibly why my leg would feel somewhat weak in the thigh and achey in the calf, but the emg which tested both...said all normal? Only said I had Chronic denervation/reinnervation in lower back s1 to l5 with possibly radiculopathy? THANKS, your generosity...

I think I just google tooooo much and it just seemed that FIBS did not fit after surgery but as you said....Why am I questioning a Dr with years of experience who teaches EMG to student in a highly reputable hospital? I wish I had an acceptable answer to that, but I know there is not one...

Hey ALY, not sure if you saw my reply and I really really do not want to question my Dr as he is a teaching Dr at a top 25 hospital and was very nice through he procedure. In your past experience do FIB on EMG after surgery seem normal? that is my big concern.

I thank you both for your answers. So I guess FIBS on EMG after surgery are not uncommon. ALSO, my lumbar showed fibs at s1 l5 and showed chronic denervation/reinnervation. Nuero said that based on the condition of my neck being pretty ugly with stenosis or spondylytis? cannot remember...
