For the record, I think the common sentiment that Bulbar ALS is "worse" than limb onset or that the prognosis is shorter is based on complications that arise from speaking/swallowing difficulties, not disease progression. I am not a neurologist or even a doctor (I am, ahem, a lawyer)...
