We had my wifes fillings removed right after diagnosed. None of that works. Take the advise given here and live every single day as your last together. Laugh and hug is the best thing I can tell you.

My wife who has ALS started taking lithium carbonate 150mg twice a day. Since starting, her speech and left side motor skills seem worse. In addition she has become very depressed. Has anyone else experienced any negative symptoms?

I understood that about as well as you did. My medical team consists of my wife with ALS, my 10 year old daughter and 3 year old son. My wifes specialist is 3 1/2 hours away so we have limited contact.

Can anyone clear up for me if the SOD-1 is only in familial. Or is it found in both sporadic and familial?
