Here is a brief video about lps and why they are important. NFL as an ALS biomarker came from csf research. The blood nfl followed later. There are other things being looked at for csf biomarkers. The sooner they are validated the better as they help both early diagnosis and drug trials. If you are asked to do an lp for research please consider doing so. Getting more samples from a diverse population will help speed things. As a side note in the US there are several hundred carriers and potential carriers in studies getting lps every year to help find answers

Good for him! And thank you! I have had many presymptomatically and post. An experienced lp person should make it pretty easy. ( I say it that way because now nps do most of the lps at the mgh clinic. I have had 2 with nps and they have been just as good as the mds and better than some
