Carewest Colonel Belcher Care Centre is a professional hospice and respite care facility located in Calgary, Alberta.

The goal of the Caregiver Support Program is to provide education support and advocacy to individuals who provide unpaid care and support at home in the community or in a care facility to an adult friend or family member who is living with a disability chronically ill elderly or palliative.

We are committed to providing support that is relevant to community identified needs.

In keeping with these principles services will include but will not be limited to provision of information education community development opportunities for mutual support and systemic advocacy.

A caregiver is anyone who is currently providing unpaid care and / or support at home in the community or in a care facility to an adult friend or family member who is living with a disability chronically ill elderly or palliative. The Caregiver Support Program is FREE and open to all individuals providing unpaid care to loved ones living in the Vancouver area. No referrals are required. We give priority to caregivers who are either living in Vancouver BCor caring for someone who is living in Vancouver BC. Please visit our website for more details.We provide caregivers with information education and emotional support. We produce a quarterly newsletter and run monthly support groups for caregivers. We also offer educational workshops telephone support and information and referral services. We aim to help caregivers learn coping skills decrease caregiver stress and increase their ability to access community resources and navigate the health care system.
