Robert I am glad the biopsy went well. H-m-m-m chocolates after a colonoscopy---perhaps they are a bunch with a sense of humour? It tickles my funny bone. I hope you get some answers soon.

Robert, I'm glad to hear you're home. Please feel free to entertain us by posting while under the influence of pain meds 8-)

How come I've never gotten chocolates in a take home bag? What's up with that? .... hmmmm Wyoming hospitals give good treats

feel better!

Hi Robert! Thanks for letting us know, that all went well. Hope you are enjoying the chocolates! How is the pain, today?

I'll try to keep it to one drug inspired ramble for now ;)

The discharge papers were interesting, besides the typical wound care info (Of which there was surprisingly little... I eventually have to take the dressing off, just don't know what to expect.) were all kinds of warnings about being supervised for the next 24 hours, not trying to do anything, nor make any major decisions. Since my wife left me with a little ice cream and a kiss on her way to work I had this scene in my head with the worst case scenario of ignoring the hospital's advice...

...There I would be sitting on the curb in my robe and undies with the ice cream carton in hand. Behind me, my truck would be plowed into the side of our burning home while pages of my altered will leaving everything to one "Victor Caparzo" would blow by...

I've prepped myself for the waiting game, and possible lack of info, but "no news is good news."

In the mean time, I'm switching out my avatar to my oldest boy. He's the "old soul." A little shy, a daydream type thinker, and a wonderful kid. I also added an album of the boys to my profile. I'm still looking for a good family pic.

Take care all,

Robert

What doctors here are giving out after colonoscopies and sigmoids is PHOTOS OF THE INSIDE OF YOUR INTESTINES !

If there is anything I have never wanted to know, it is what I look like inside out. Gross.

Robert- glad things are going well and the worst case scenario didnt occur. When I went to the ER for the bronchiospams after the reaction to Baclofen- they gave me a small dose of morphine for chest pain. They told me not to drive for 6 hours. Well- of course I wasnt about to sit at hospital, and husband had already taken his break and was on his way to another cardiac cath case..... I got out to the car....the battery was dead, so I popped the hood and wiggled the wire to the battery ( it comes loose sometimes) and got back in. In the process I didn't get the door closed all of the way. So---- as I left the ER parking lot my door SWUNG open.... all the way home I SWORE there were cops getting ready to arrest me for DUI AND that the ER staff watched the entire incident. I REALLY was fine to drive....it was just a lil mishap. Dr's orders-----> take em with a grain of salt? LOL

Take care and let us know what the results are~! We're pulling for you!
Any snow in Sheridan yet? We have mist here, but 15 miles up they have 4 inches already.

Robert, continue to enjoy your icecream, I'm glad you're coping without supervision!

Cindy, how funny. A few years ago I got pulled over for making an illegal right hand turn on red. So the officer is standing at my car window, and I launch into this explanation how I'd just had root canal done, and wasn't myself from the pain meds (I still cannot believe I said that!) .... He let me go, told me to drive slow and stick to cold soft foods for a while LOL.

Cindy,

Responding a little late on the weather question, but it doesn't matter because it hasn't changed. It's still snowing here. Looks like we'll get a little bit more before it stops.

Driving in the car one of the boys wailed today, "I hope we don't have a white Halloween." No there's something you don't hear everywhere... :)

Hi Robert

I am glad you are feeling well. Did they do a punch or incision? Mine was skeletal and they went deep. I am glad you dont have alot of pain, I did.

Take care!

April,

It was incision. About 3 inches long. According to my friend they took about 2cm of muscle.

Robert,

sounds the same, I must be a baby! BUt glad you are doing well.

....sonw , YIKES! So you probably don't want to hear that we took a long drive with the top down on the convertible today.... What a cute older son you have! my eldest wore glasses too (from the week he turned two actually)... hope you keep feeling better.

April - Naw... everyone is different, and there are a lot of variables. I've had some procedures that others have said were painless, and I didn't tolerate well. My brother could stick his fingers into his wound and probe a little. I certainly couldn't pull that one off.

Rose - Don't worry. At the 4-inches mark my sister in law texted me to let me know it was 80 in North Carolina.

Hi Robert! Snow in October? Wow....I think we had snow, maybe once ~ a fluke. Looked really silly with the leaves on the trees. Many years ago. YUK! So beautiful in the Northeast. Today a little cloudy, but no snow. I'll take it.

Hope the leg is healing up.

Still just hanging around in limboland, but had to post a fun update to the thread. My brother called today, and he and his wife have decided to have their formal ceremony. They have been married civilly (is marriage ever civil ;) ) for eight years, but have finally decided it is time for the blessing by the priest.

So a harried afternoon later, and thanks to the power of the Internet (how did we ever plan travel before it), we have tickets for five to North Carolina in a couple of weeks. Well, besides the fun of spending a week with my favorite family in a warmer clime, and seeing my daughter's excitement in realising she was going on an airplane for the first time, my brother threw in another twist... He said he was making arrangements to take me skydiving.

Now with all that is going on my brain was thinking, "What about my neck and legs? Should I even try to do this? What if I make things worse?" Then that same part of me that rode my tricycle down the slide when I was four said, "I'm going to jump out of an airplane. Whoohoo!" My brother is instructor rated through work, so it will be a tandem jump. I don't have to worry about anything but screaming like banshee, and trying not to pee my pants.

Can hardly wait.

Robert
