Some nice news. It is cause for great excitement in our house.
My lovely husband has had to start using his Bipap (via trache) pretty much full time now. It is of course devestating that his breathing is declining but......... He suddenly has started to smile alot. A while back he said he couldn't smile because his face wouldnt work - his eyes smiled but not his mouth. On vent he says he feels like his face works a bit better.
There is probably a medical reason for this like less Co2 retention or something but to see this happening is absolutely brilliant and has filled our house with laughter - oh how we were missing his smile. Long may it continue.
