Intermittent "deadness" in arms

Well I did suck it up and drove to work today and had no problems. Had a moderately busy day and by the time I drove home I knew I was done for the day--it's about five fifteen on a Friday, my house is full of my kids and their friends and I'm in bed! I can hear everyone down there having a good time and destroying my living room, but I can't be part of it. I feel like that's m life--go to work and go to bed. Excitement.

Oh! Good to know! I thought it had to come from the doctor. See? This site is always helpful! How do you get a handicapped parking permit?

in kansas you have to get the paper from where you get your tags and take it to you dr. then go back to them.

For a handicapped parking permit in NY go to DMV for paperwork or go on their website to print it. Then Dr. Has to sign off, then you bring it to your local town clerk who issues the tag. DMV does not issue the actual tag, they only provide the form. That's one benefit of having this miserable disorder..good parking spaces! Kathy

Think it depends on your locality. Best place to check is going to be with your dmv. In Virginia, after the doc signs the paperwork you take it back to dmv

In Australia the form is more complicated as it includes a medical certificate of competence to drive as well.

We did not know that and Chris was still driving (against my advice), but his mobility was so bad he wanted the permit.

When we asked our doctor if she had the form she said yes, then, but you aren't still driving are you?

It was awful, because he believed he was fine because he was careful. She knew he was not fine and filled out the forms including the certificate stating he was NOT medically competent to drive. He finally did hand in his licence and we got the parking permit.

In Pennsylvania, a physician signs as to disability, which you then must have notarized (I suppose this signals your agreement with the doctor - and that you're not feigning the actual disability -- :)), and then mail to PA-DMV -- which issues the permit.

So I went to my Appt with the neuros yesterday and they were very positive--they said they felt I was "plateuing" and could potentially stay that way for years. It's the first time I really felt positive leaving there, and in talking to my hubby I once again renewed my commitment to DO THIS THING! I feel rejuvenated--I'm going to do this for at least two more years while my last child finishes high school so we can live here--where my kids have gone to school for 11 years. Then, if I need to go on disability, I will. I can do two(and a half) years standing on my head.
