I was diagnosed last year and have trouble lifting my arms when I’m standing up but when I lie on my back I can lift my arms all the way up and over my head which I find quite odd if they don’t work well when I’m standing. Any idea why this is the case? Anyone else have a similar experience?

Not that exact thing but similar. Your back muscles are supported when you lie down plus you would only be fighting gravity half way. It helps you the other half

Same thing here and I find myself lying down to brush my teeth, put on underarm deodorant and buttoning my shirt my times because it easier. GB67 is correct in that the muscles that do the arms above chest high are your shoulders. I got some stretch exercises from my PT that helped but it is what it is ........
