This is being discussed in the fb group Research on Motor Neuron Disease.
A couple of PhD's at McMaster University in Canada have been working on a vitamin supplement for over 15 years.
The mix of 30 over the counter vitamins and supplements, which seems to prevent and reverse damage to cells, will probably be called BioVerity when it starts human trials in a couple of years (at UCLA, I think, but I can't find the reference). The cost is expected to be ~$100/month.
In the short term, they are going to start unofficial trials soon. There is a possibility that US and Canadian PALS could get in on these trials.
