you can use your palm between the ribs and above the belly button, like you would if someone was has food stuck. Found out that what I was doing is called a quad cough. Stand in front of them, put one hand over the other, the btm of your hands should be above the belly button, have the pals breath in as much as possible, as they exhale apply an in and up pressure. This helps finish a cough, it also works with swallowing issues, I figured this out as my husband was turning blue from a piece of sausage stuck, jumped up on him and gave a push, out it flew. We used the quad cough if we were not near his equip. and he had breathing problems saved his life many times . good luck
