"down under" we have awards that are announced on the Queens Birthday holiday.

They are for a range of areas, one of which is the fire service.

I was lucky and got one of the two for South Australia.

Mine was based on fire fighter safety, which I pushed in my area for 15 odd years.

Now I can have letters after my name .

I got the Australian Fire Service Medal.

So my name can now have the letters AFSM after it.

My only disappointment with this posting is I cannot share this news with our fire fighter Al , then again he might read this and pass it on to all those who have left us.
