ALS OR NOT hmmmmmm

Hi everybody I have had symptoms for 3 years now and have had many different diagnosis so far. It's enough to drive you crazy lol But I'm a positive kind of gal so I'm still looking for answers I have numbness in left arm and leg also muscle spasms and pain. I am becoming very forgetful and my kids keep telling me I'm talking too soft. I drop things and I trip and limp on bad days. My recent addition is spas in my neck and I cant swallow luckily it only lasts for about ten seconds. SO ANY IDEAS PEOPLE I would really appreciate your input

3 years now---if you have had ALS 3 years, odds are you'd be very disabled or dead by now.
many different diagnosis---were any of them ALS or PLS, MND or UMN?
numbness in left arm and leg---ALS does not feel numb
muscle spasms and pain---this sounds like a muscle problem, not ALS
very forgetful---new onset ALS does not affect the mind.
talking too soft---not a complaint of new onset ALS
spas in my neck and I cant swallow...about ten seconds---ALS isn't about muscles tightening, it's about muscles being permanently limp and useless.
drop things and I trip and limp on bad days---With ALS, every day is wrose than the next. ALS weakness doesn't come and go.

Your complaints are mostly sensory--pain. ALS is not about pain. In ALS, the motor neurons in your brain are destroyed one by one in serial order, so a muscle goes limp and useless--without any pain or sensation of any kind--and then the next muscle goes limp, and the next, etc.

Also, your complaints are all over your body. ALS doesn't do that in the beginning.

In short, I don't see ALS here at all.

Good news is it doesn't sound like ALS. As Mike said, after 3 years honest you would be either severely disabled or dead.

Have you been to an ALS clinic in Melbourne? What kind of specialists have you seen?

What are the different diagnoses you've had so far?

Lots of questions back I know, but what you've told us so far tells us very little to comment on.
