Had a question for all that gotten a feeding tube. I’m new to getting one and in pain w gas. Can anyone tell me if it common and how long till the pain passes?

Should only last a couple of days.

A tip for you. Buy the single o-ring syringes off Amazon. Much better than the ones you get with tube. Also buy some 20 oz condiment squeeze bottles to fill the syringe with. Very easy and fast.

I haven't had any gas pains with mine. My initial pain was around the stoma when I coughed, sneezed, or used my ab muscles during transfers, but that went away after a couple of weeks. I have a PEG with a bumper on the inside, I assume, because nobody explained to me how to check and refill the balloon. Hope you are better by now.

Had no gas pain but uncomfortable to get out of bed / sit/ walk for 5 days

I've it for over a year now, maybe longer. Mine is curled up and taped across my stomach with surgical. Fun to pull off. I am still able to eat normally, but we put a high caloric formula through most nights to keep my weight stable. I am so used to it that I barely think about it most of the time.

Thank you everyone. I am feeling better, and even gained so weight.
