FTD
Definition:
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a clinical syndrome caused by degeneration of the frontal lobe of the brain and may extend back to the temporal lobe. ALS and FTD: A relationship between FTD and ALS was first noticed in the 1800's. Studies are being conducted to realize the clinical, pathological and genetic features characterizing FTD and ALS and to understand the overlaps between these two disorders, and the mechanisms that contribute to their onset and development.
