Hi All,

Researching foods that cause excess mucous so I can avoid them.

Dairy & Soy products are all I've found. I'm told that acidic juices like tomato, V-8, clear apple juice, lemonade, coffee, can help eliminate mucous.

I just started taking Mucinex.

Any other suggestions?

Carbonated soda. Lately I have been putting it the blender with ice, a coke slushy! My hubby also takes Prilosec, helps with acid, dont know about mucous though. He also is able to drink Vitamin water mixed with ice in the blender. I started buying soda in the 12oz 8 paks in resealable plastic bottles. More expensive, but a lot less waste than cans or 2 litre bottles. Lori

Contrary to popular belief, Orange juice is a mucous maker and should be avoided. To get a citrus punch that helps deter mucous buildup start enjoying lemonade. You can add variety to the beverage too by adding lavender water etc. I'll have a look at things to avoid for colds and sinus and see if there can be a cross reference for all of us.
