Hello,
I wanted to provide an update (unsure why my original thread was closed?)
Saw Neurologist last week who did a complete Neuro exam which revealed no abnormalities. The exam was very thorough so I have confidence she would have detected abnormalities if I had ALS. The doctor acknowledged what I described as atrophy in both my hands but didn't seem concerned. I went and did a blood test that looked for a variety of things including CK which was normal (low end of normal), doctor said if I had atrophy caused by ALS this enzyme would usually be elevated.
With regards to my twitching, she acknowledged it but said its not uncommon is someone as anxious as me, and the coming and going wants towards a benign cause.
Was told no need for EMG at this point. Despite my anxiety I'm satisfied with this consultation and will get on with life (and no more googling!)
Seeing her again in 3 months.
