Does anyone know if it is possible for ALS to progress with out any bulbar symptoms? From what I've read, if your ALS symptoms didn't begin as bulbar symptoms, problems with speaking, chewing, swallowing, etc... will eventually occur as the ALS advances. My sweet friend can only move her neck now. She has a very decreased lung capacity with a poor cough. However, she shows no bulbar symptoms yet. I was just wondering if that was unusual.
Thanks in advance for your help. You guys have always been so nice and patient with my questions. I appreciate it more than I can say. I pray for ya'll daily.

Hi Stacy. My limb symptoms started 4 years ago and I needed a Bipap to breathe at night 2 years ago and I have no bulbar symptoms yet(touch wood).
