Kim, there is a young girl (teenager) who shaking up the drum world named Sina.

She has a You Tube Video where she drums to the old Safari's tune "Wipe Out".

She uses dual Floor Bases and... plays barefoot. Could I ask a favor? Hint hint.:)

PS. There is another video where she knocks out Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4.'

Al,

I dated a drummer. He said I had "potential." Of course, my ex-husband told me I could be a professional pool player if I would only practice. LOL WOW, Sina really rocks it.

Kim, thanks so much.

Being you have a familiarity with drums what's unique about Sina
is that she uses the German stick hold (grip) over the common
Traditional grip and the American grip. (Palms, one or both at a
45 degree angle stick between the index and ring finger.) Rock
drummers often switch during a tune but she doesn't.

Thanks again. :)

Anywooo... hope the others don't mind. :)

She's definitely a natural.

My mother held a golf club like you'd hold a baseball bat. She could hit the ball over 200 yards so nobody tried to correct her.

All this stuff is so cool. I just put Sina on for Brian. He’s enjoying her YouTube vids. Will get him the others later.

Thank you all for sharing.

The Lousiville Leopard Percussionists are awesome! Thank you. Did you see the movie "School of Rock" with Jack Black? One of my all time favorites.

Wohoo, Tillie.

This is one of the best threads I've "heard" in a long time. Keep it up!

Al,
I've been listening to Sina's other stuff on YouTube. Very cool.

These videos are great.

Here’s an example of an amazing classical music performance (Franz Schubert ‘s Octet) that is worth watching, even if only for a minute or two, as an example of amazing nonverbal communication between musicians. Watch the eye contact and body language.

I’ve played this wonderful piece before (the bassoon part).

It's like a beautiful dance.

Back to life isn't fair... :)

Black Sabbath's singer Ozzy Osbourne. 70 years old, 50 years of smoking,
(quit cigarettes) smokes pot, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, women, (Sharon
finally left him) and wild hotel parties. Still going strong, now has a TV series.

Net worth... $300 million. Geeze... :)
