I am curious if any of you have been obsessed with the presidential race. I have been, probably because I spend so much time on my ass watching TV.

It really makes no sense to me as why I have been following the race so closely. My future looks bleak, perhaps it is for my kids and grand kids. I would like to leave them in a better world.

We have 2 less than ideal candidates, so we are forced to pick from what we perceive as the lesser of two evils:twisted:

This is the first presidential race I have voted on in my life. I felt the need to do so to cancel my wife's vote. We have very different perspectives, I find myself amazed that two people could be so different and be together for so many years. I mean that in the nicest possible way(I will get my ass kicked for this).

I will not specify who I voted for but will tell you this, I feel that putting more liberal Supreme Court justices will put our religious freedoms at risk. Much of the drug and criminal activity in Utah is related to illegal immigration. Immigration is a crucial. Our 2nd amendment must stay in tact.

In summary, we have a broken country and need to put our needs first as a country, and quit taking care of everybody else. Fu(k being politically correct!!!!!!!!!!

I will be so glad when the race is over and I can go back to just being miserable.

I've been obsessed too.

Early on, back when half of all the republicans in the world were insulting each other in the primaries, I realized that " the lesser of two evils" just didn't cut it anymore.

I coined a new lament: this year it's choose "which circle of hell" you want.

BigMark, There are a lot of husbands and wifes divided on this election. I am in Aerospace/outside sales. I had a customer who talked for over an hour about his wifes NOT voting for Trump. To be honest, neither one of them should be the next president. I just can't give my vote to Trump because I cant look at him for that long.

Men have screwed up in the Whitehouse for to many years. Might try giving a woman a chance even if she is the devil in disguise. Trump is the bullfrog. Just joking guys! TAKE IT LIGHTLY. The truth is they are both horrible choices.

I'm in a very odd position. I'm an Evangelical Christian but I'm very far to the left. I think I'm a socialist. I thought I was a pacifist until I thought about why we needed to stop Hitler and why we need to stop ISIS. However, I feel great empathy for refugees and remember my grandmother telling me how badly we Irish were treated when we first came over.

My cousin, Patti, is a retired Lt. Col. (Army). She is a strong supporter of Clinton. I'm with her. I wasn't a Clinton supporter but, given the alternative, it was an easy choice for me.

I'll be glad when the election is over, too, Mark.

Which of them cares the most about conserving the environment?

Won't be much to vote over if we f*ck the planet any harder ....

I can't take my eyes off of this trainwreck either.
Embarrassing choices

For me one is less deplorable though!

Big Mark, thank you for making the effort to vote. Personally, I agree with you. In this case, the Devil in Disguise I fear would see the end of our Constitution and way of life. Pay to play---there is just too much smoke for the fire to not be burning.

I have family and friends voting for Hillary, and I love you still.

I want it over. I'm so tired of the ugliness that permeates our society and is so evident in this race (and people on both sides are guilty of that).

What this election has done is pull be back into the real world. I lost interest in everything but my husband after his diagnosis. I shut out the news and focused only on him, ALS, and living. I've been jolted out of that and am back to watching the news (and it's not pretty).

Having said all of this, our freedom to disagree and the option to change direction every four years is something that makes our country special and strong. It is it's own form of checks and balances. I'd like to say it keeps us honest, but if I did you'd ALL laugh at me!!!

This is interesting. My husband is very republican and I am very liberal. We used to get mad at each other when we discussed politics,
I agree with everybody with the fact of neither candidate is ideal.
But Trump is scarier, my husband is not going to vote for him, thank god, I am latina and most of us felt very offended with his comments about latinos, muslims, women....etc

This one is certainly interesting to watch from a distance- I am glad I am not immersed in the rhetoric up here on this side of the border.

I wonder if people have assessed the candidates based on which entities and groups want them to win? While HRC has considerable backing from "big" banks, business and many diverse groups of citizens- from multicultural and minority groups, social activists and the like. Trump seems to garner support from many people considered traditional enemies of US society or people who wish to disrupt in a violent way- like Aryan Nation, KKK, Stormfront, Russia, etc.

Who stands to gain from which candidate? And who poses the most threat to the country as a whole? I understand that many people are desiring to "shake" the system up- but not sure just how it would work out if it benefits some of the most violent fringe elements of society.

Regardless, I think this election is being avidly watched around the world. Many people, while not part of the US citizenry, will be affected by who is elected. Nato, trade deals, environmental agreements, peace treaties, governments supported by American military, governments opposed by American military...all have a vested interest in how it turns out. Interesting times!

Living in FL, they come and go...come and go campaigning. Traffic is snarled, roads and interstates shut, and ads run non-stop. I cant wait for tomorrow to be done.

I'm stuck wondering why there is not a rule that someone (anyone) who is being investigated for a federal crime cannot run for political office?

We took advantage of being able to vote early... and did so last week. So glad that we won't have to stand in any lines today!

In this case not only being investigated for a federal crime, but the crime of treason against the country. And still she might win?? I don't understand.

If you're referring to the emails, Pete, it's a witch hunt and nowhere near treason. I had a small 'data spill' of classified info myself, so I'm somewhat familiar with the process.

Yipppee!!!!!!!!! Today is the day we find out whether we have four more years of Obama, or if there is hope for change.
