chronic bodywide twitcher for almost 2 years, won't ask. I know the answer :).

I get the occasional tonge twitch which after reading through old posts I won't ask about. I have started to get whistling noise when I pronunciate certain words. Mosty F's and S's, but only once or twice a day. Other then that I notice my front and bottom teeth bang when I speak. Nothing crazy but noticeable. Could just be hyper viggilant. It may have always, but I just noticed it. Made appt with dr. Needed follow up anyway. It's not until Feb 4th I believe. Wanted to know if anything I mentioned seems familiar to anyone here. Yes I do have anxiety, but who wouldn't. Merry Christmas.

I never had any tongue twitches and bulbar onset starts with slurred speech so if you don't sound drunk then I wouldn't worry. Have a good Christmas and relax.

thank you for taking the time to answer me. God bless.

is no one else answering this because it's that ridiculos? The problem with my teeth hitting when I speak happened suddonly on thursday. I was being hypervigillant of how I spoke because of the whistling here and there. But now it happens all the time and it is starting to make my top teeth hurt. I was freaking out because I was thinking my jaw was cover compensating for tongue weakness. If I'm crazy just lay it out straight. You don't have to surgarcoat it. But if it's a potential issue I need to know. Thank you all. God bless.

Relax, no one else is answering because it is Christmas and most people are having fun away from the forum. Give it a couple of days and there will be more.

your right, I'm sorry. Anxiety was getting the better of me.

Not sure but you should get checked out by a Dr just to make sure nothing sinister is starting. I am not talking about ALS, but many other things an cause muscle weakness, like myasthenia gravis.

I think I may have figured it out. I may be wrong and going to dr anyway, but I have been so hypervigilant about my tongue that I listen to everything I say. I'm not placing my tongue properly between my teeth to protect them from hitting when I speak. I may be wrong which is why I'm getting it checked. Two months ago an als nuero checked me for bulbar als due to tongue twitches and said it looked fine. Every since two close people to me lived through it I have been a wreck especially with the twitches. Would love any other feedback, as I am still nervous. I know ur not therapists and wouldn't reach out unless I really needed it.

Similar to barryg my mother experienced slurred speech as the initial symptom. there are so many speech related issues though I would continue to get it checked out.

if you were checked by an ALS neuro only two months ago, and he/she said you were fine, then I would suggest listening to him/her.

went to my tmj specialist today and I may have dislocated my jaw after vomiting. Never thought that was possible. Had mri, going back tomm for results...will keep updated...at least it's not in my head if that's the case.

mri showed major trauma, inflamation and torn cartilage. Seems that explains all my symptoms. Thank you all for listening. God bless, happy new year.
