an update

I had posted here a few times about my ALS fear and wanted to give an update. This week, I was referred to Dr. Glass at Emory. He is booked out until June, so I scheduled an earlier appointment with Dr. McCluskey at UPenn in early March.

My latest exam found absent reflexes in multiple places (triceps, babsinski, decreased ankle), wasting of the intrinsic hand muscles, calf atrophy and visible fasciculations. the latest emg showed a c7-8 radiculopathy, but the cpine MRI showed no abnormalities at that level...just a mild bulge at c4-5 (2mm) and smaller protrusions at c3-4 & c5-6 (1mm). Having an MRI on the brachial plexus today. The latest neuro is perplexed with the EMG just showing chronic issues, nothing active. He says PMA may be the issue, but wants me to see a specialist.

Needless to say, my anxiety and depression levels are off the chart. I am on lexapro and in therapy almost every day of the week.

Forgot to mention no clinical weakness. I'm 28
