Symptom of ALS or something else?

Bless all of you for your patience with all of my questions. I do try to google things before bothering you but I don't always get answers.

My father (who is 86) is describing a feeling like he has something pushing around his head or feels like there is a blanket over his head and it feels like his ear is thickened. That's the only way he could describe it. I'm just wondering if this is ALS or something else.

Hi Jennifer,
My mom doesn't really describe it like that but she definitely has a funny feeling in her head. Not a headache, but always light-headed, and I would say she feels kind of foggy, like things are not exactly clear in her head. She puts her hand up to her forehead a lot. Take care, Trina
