Hi there,

just another question.

Since about two months I have foot and ankle pain when walking. To me it´s clearly because I have lost muscles in this areas. So it´s just not a lot of padding anymore under my foot...

but the neurologists I went to keep telling my that my feet are alright and that there is still enough muscles left. The sole of my feet is a bit soft but nothing that bothers them in anyway.Strenght test although a bit painfull seem to support their opinion. That leads to the question, how can that be possible?

I know that I have lost muscle mass in my feet during 9 months of inactivity, but if this is still no kind of considerable atrophy from a neurologic point of view, why does my feet hurt when walking and why can I feel my bones through?

That would leave the answer somewhere in the middle.Because I have become hypersensible I notice pain although there is still a considerable amount of muscle mass left.

What do you think? How can I have such real pain when walking,if my neurologists say my muscles are okay?!

Thx for your help

There are many things that can cause foot pain. I don't know what the words would be in Germany but here there are other specialists you might see. An orthopedist specializes in disorders of the joints and movement. A rheumatologist deals with inflammation, irritation and unexplained pain. A podiatrist specializes in foot problems. Hopefully you can follow up with other doctors who are able to help you.

I would ask for a referral to a Physio Therapist .

You might be favoring it , causing you the pain.
