My Dad does not drink

Hello everybody!

My Dad was diagnosed in February 2008. He is now at the last stage of ALS. I live in Canada, he is in Russia with my Mom. Mom says recently he has had problems with liquids. I sent the Quick Thick, and it helped for some time. Now he cannot drink thick liquids either. He can eat puree food though.
How can I help him?

Can he get a PEG (feeding tube) inserted ? Putting all the liquids , including some of that Russian vodka would give him a boost. Of course , your Mom might nix the vodka.

PEG is the way to go.

I know, Glen, vodka always helps. The problem is that in Russia they keep PEG patients in hospital; we do not want that.
Has anybody heard about feeding through the nose? One doctor in Russia said he fed his wife this way for quite a long time.
