Hey David, I replied to your latest thread but it's awaiting moderation. I clicked through your older threads and see you got a less-than-friendly reception from some members. I had the same experience myself, but most of them have sinced warmed up to me and have proven very helpful. What they probably didn't realize is that mito disease can mimmic many features of ALS, and I know that what you're experiencing is very real to you. Hang in there and check out my post when it appears.

Not been diagnosed with ALS but fear from my symptoms I have it noticed about 6 months ago strange sensation in my left hand . Then noticed discomfort while driving and holding a cell phone in both hands . Orthopaedic surgeon "diagnosed " carpal tunnel without an EMG. never convinced of this as noticed muscle atrophy in both forearms. went ahead with the decompression of the nerve for carpal tunnel and noticed some improvement for a month after but the symptoms returned . Also experienced a burning sensation at the elbow.

pushed then to see a neurologist as began to get discomfort in my legs. He confirmed muscle atrophy and sent me for a l MRI which diagnosed sciatica. I also had an EMG and full MRI both showed nothing.

. l waiting to see my neourologist again to see what next in terms of diagnosis. Also taking Gabapentin and Amytriptiline for sciatica so wonder if they masking symptoms in my arm. Do get bad cramps in my leg muscle but could be sciatica.
