Mom has trouble sleeping and it's because her legs hurt at night. The hospice nurse said we could give her a bit of morphine at night for this. I thought the morphine was just for breathing problems. Nurse told this to my dad so I haven't spoken to her about it.

Anyone else use Morphine for somthing other than breathing problems?

Morphine absolutely can be used for pain. It is its most traditional use. hospice orders are usually written "as needed for pain and/or dyspnea" ( dyspnea is difficult breathing). It will make her more comfortable. I am so sorry you are in this place

Thank You. We may try some tonight.

Definitely, and it can be used in low doses often to keep the pain under control.

My PALS takes a dose at night before sleep.

My dads on Methadone and Morphine for pain.
