trials and insurance

does anyone know if all life insurances restrict you from going into trials my son would like to try one but he would lose his life insurance

Would he just lose it while he is in the trial and get it back after?
All Clinical trials hold there own insurance policies incase something goes wrong and the subject has a claim while on the trial. But it would cease probably 6 weeks after the last treatment, or last follow up after the trial has completed.
